Prior to the last leg of the Swimming World Cup 2023, swimming fans were left dismayed. 100-meter butterfly champion Kristof Milak decided not to participate in the Budapest event. The athlete who broke Michael Phelps’ record in the 100-meter butterfly in 2019 had decided to return to the pool after beginning his training in September but pulled out 24 hours before the event.
Following this upset, a staunch swimmer decided to participate in the last leg of the World Cup. British swimmer Ben (Benjamin) Proud left the internet in a frenzy after surpassing his rivals in a 50-meter event. This win comes for the swimmer after facing a defeat two years ago.
