Recently on TikTok, a video of an adorable puppy went viral. Ruby, an Australian shepherd pup, has taken away all the social media brownie points with his adorable attempt to stay awake after enjoying a swimming session. According to Newsweek, the video captioned “When the Swim Sleeps Hit on the Car Ride Home”? has scored over 663,600 views and 94,000 likes on Tik Tok. In the video, the puppy, after its swimming session, is seen trying hard to keep his deep blue eyes open but eventually having to give up and close his eyes.

Ruby’s adorable actions have truly created waves on social media. Nonetheless, apart from swimming, there are many ways for your dogs to get tired and sleep well. According to Niki French, a dog trainer from England, there are four other ways to tire almost every breed of dog and get them to sleep peacefully. According to French, the owner of the pup, a scent game that involves spreading your dog?s food all around the house and letting your dog smell and find the food can help tire your pet. Another trick involves using a licking mat for your furry friend. You can smear wet foods such as bananas, moistened biscuits, or yogurt on the mat and let your dog lick it. A new food can also be smeared onto the mat to test out your dog’s food interest. Mat licking is an easy way to help your dog calm down and go to sleep.

Further, the next trick involves a game of tug with your pet. Dogs love to play with toys by grabbing onto them with their mouths; however, try to be more cautious with dogs who bite the toy ferociously and use a long toy to protect your hand. After playing a few rounds of the game, try to settle your dog down and put them to sleep. And lastly, let your furry friend lick and chew on safe items that can?t be choked upon. According to Niki French, a natural chewable with a proper size according to your pet’s size and that comes from a single source of protein is the best item for your dog to chew and lick.
