The much anticipated 2024 Olympics is only months away. Many staunch swimmers have geared up their goggles to represent their countries in the pools of Paris next year. Chinese star Qin Haiyang, who continues to break records at the 2023 Swimming World Cup, will be one of the biggest contenders at the Big games. Furthermore, Sarah Sjostrom, after facing a nagging injury, has also decided to train for her fifth Olympics.

Following these athletes recently, the USA’s top-notch swimmers have taken a leap to keep their Olympic dream alive. While training with the Texas Aquatics Ford, two swimmers secured a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity after participating in a National Select camp. Ford Aquatics also shared their swimmers’ experience on social media

Swimmers leap towards their Olympics dream

On October 18, Texas Ford Aquatics posted an update on Facebook. Showcasing their top-notch swimmer’s achievement, the swimming school stated in the caption, “This past weekend, Jack ( Armour) and Yochanan (Meza) just US Olympic Training Center, where they were trained with and learned from the best coaches in the USA swimming at National Select Camp! Furthermore, while highlighting their experience, the caption added, “They participated in a once-in-a-lifetime camp, learning race strategy, athlete nutrition, recovery, and positive mental health strategies.”

This post comes weeks after Jack Armour verbally pledged to join the University of Notre Dame. The athlete will begin his academic journey at the university in 2025. After this update, Armour who won the 100m breast and 200 IM at the 2023 UIL 5A State championship told the media, “I am honored and excited to announce my verbal commitment to pursue my athletic and academic career at the University of Notre Dame!”

Interestingly, apart from these athletes, another athlete training with the Ford Pro showcased staunch performance at the Texas Senior Circuit. Matt King also set his season-best time in the 50-meter freestyle.

Matt King’s performance at Texas Circuit

The second Texas Senior Circuit meet of the season was held from June 1 until June 3. In this event, Matt King, who is training under Coley Stickles of the Texas Ford Pro, finished the 50-meter freestyle in 21.97. The athlete who left Virginia after the fall semester gave his personal best of the season with just a few seconds difference from his personal best of 21.83 seconds. The athlete also gave a staunch performance in the 100-meter event of the meet. King touched the wall in 48.73 seconds.

This year, many athletes representing Texas Ford Aquatics have raised the bar of swimming. Now the fans are girded up for these young talents to keep their spark for the Olympics alive and join the U.S. team in the 2028 Olympics
