Phelps appreciates Dale Earnhardt Jr
In 2016, the swimming legend shared a few words for the racing Driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. on his seventh championship win. The legend in his monologue expressed what the athlete?s achievement means to the world and Dale himself, as he stated, “This isn?t just another night for our seven-time champion. He set records and now stands alongside two legends. But for him, it?s more than that. It?s personal glory and the reward for a lifetime of hard work. And for the rest of us, it?s the knowledge that we just watched the greatest driver who ever lived.”
In 2016, Earrhardt officially joined the seven-title club, which already included the GOAT of F1 Lewis Hamilton, and motor racing legend Richard Petty. And on that night, Phelps truly exhibited the pinnacle of sportsmanship by appreciating the NASCAR racer for his effort. Hopefully, NASCAR shares more glimpses of the legend on the tracks in the future.
