Between 1958 and 2016, the International Shark Attack File documented 2,785 unprovoked shark attacks worldwide. Out of over 480 shark species, only three pose a significant threat to humans: great white, tiger, and bull sharks. These three species accounted for the majority of double-digit fatal attacks.
