On the first day of the second leg of the Swimming World Cup 2023, the team U.S.A. regained its form. Amid facing disappointment in the 100m breaststroke in Berlin, Germany, Nic Fink clinched a silver in the highly anticipated event, currently being held in Athens, Greece, from October 13 to October 15. Michael Andrews also secured another gold on the first day of the World Cup.

Following this news on the second day, another staunch athlete secured another win for the United States in the Olympic Pool of Athens, Greece. After facing defeat against an Australian swimmer in a 200m event, 17-year-old Katie Grimes has roared back over rivals to clinch a win and keep the Paris Olympics dream alive.

According to the live coverage provided by FINA on YouTube, Katie Grimes has secured gold in the 400-meter medley. The 17-year-old swimmer surpassed his rival by finishing the race in 4:38.74. At the same time, Waka Kobori and Ageha Tanigawa, representing Japan, had to settle for the second and third positions after finishing the race in 4:39.55 and 4:40.23, respectively.



This win came for Grimes after the athlete had to settle for silver in the 200-meter backstroke in Leg 1 of the Swimming World Cup 2023. The athlete finished the race in 2:08.08, while Kayle Mckeown set a new world record after finishing the race in 2:06.47. The third position was secured by Kylie Masse, representing Canada, in 2:10.32.

Apart from Grimes, another Michael Andrews secured the first gold of the event’s second leg. The athlete who looks forward to becoming the next Michael Phelps again surpassed his pool rival in the 50m event.

On the first day of the Greece Swimming World Cup, Michael Andrew claimed another victory. In the 50m freestyle event, the athlete surpassed his in-pool rival Isaac Cooper to win the event in 21.96, while Cooper had to settle for the second position in 22.07. On the other hand, Dylan Carter, representing Trinidad, clinched bronze in 22.16. This win comes after the athlete surpassed Cooper in the 50m backstroke  event to secure gold in Berlin waters
