Icons are made both on and off the court. Popular sportspersons often transcend beyond the sporting arena, becoming larger-than-life legends. 4-time Olympic gold winner Cate Campbell is among the most celebrated names in the swimming community. The iconic Australian freestyle swimmer recently won hearts intending to stand beside the war-affected people of Gaza.

Cate Campbell recently took to social media to highlight her determination to help the unfortunate people of the war-torn region of West Bank. Even though there is no shortage of celebrities from around the world who have stepped in for this cause, Campbell’s gesture stands out because of her personal touch to the efforts.

In her latest Instagram story, the Australian flag bearer in the 2020 Summer Olympics, Cate Campbell, shared images of a cabinet captioned “Finally finished“. The serene-looking blue and white cabinet looks stunning and, considering Campbell restored the old cabinet herself, we’d say a job well done!

Campbell also shared images of the cabinet as it was before. It’s awe-inspiring how well the Olympian turned a drab and stock-ish cabinet into an aesthetic piece of furniture. While the story shows some impressive skills, Campbell has revealed that her intent is more than just being good at woodwork. In the same series of Insta stories, Campbell has asked her more than 100k followers in Brisbane if anyone needs a new cabinet. She announced that the funds raised from the sale would be donated to help the people in Gaza.

Her active efforts to help the poor people affected by the decades-long Israel-Hamas conflict are truly commendable. While she successfully put her skills to use on this occasion, those are facing steep competition when it comes to swimming.
