It’s been two years since Kobe Bryant tragically passed away in a helicopter crash. He was one of the best players in the NBA, shooting his way to five NBA titles. Apart from his incredible skill set, his intangibles were preached to children at a very young age. Today, on the day of his remembrance, Michael Phelps posted a photo with the Black Mamba, along with Boomer, on Instagram.

Today, on his second death anniversary, Phelps gave a heartwarming tribute to Kobe, sharing a picture of him and Boomer together. He captioned the posts with the famous hashtags #8 and #24; the iconic jersey numbers.

A tragic loss for everyone, Phelps and Kobe were the epitome of success in both their respective fields. Notably, while Kobe Bryant won his MVP in 2008, Phelps won eight Olympic gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Two legends in one frame, the world certainly misses Kobe, while thanking Phelps for this throwback.

“No. No, no, no. I’d rather be sitting in the stands during the next one and watching all of you,” said Phelps.

Indeed, a funny exchange between two pillars of the sporting world. While Bryant’s death shook the world, his legacy remains intact and untarnished. He might be gone, but surely, he hasn’t and definitely won’t ever be forgotten.
