Under Armour is one of Michael’s sponsors and he often attends the events organized by the brand. Michael Phelps was invited to Dubai for the opening of an Under Armour store in Dubai Mall. A lot of people and media attended the inaugural event. Before the event, Michael answered questions asked by the journalists. The ‘Conor McGregor Vs Floyd Mayweather‘ was the highlight of 2017 and a buzzing topic among the media.
Phelps was asked whether he could defeat Conor McGregor in a one-time freestyle race with a 50-meter head start. The Olympic champion replied saying,” If I trained for 6 months I could probably get to 48secs. I doubt he could do it in less than 1 minute. I could probably beat him if he had a 50m head start.” Phelps sounded confident of getting back in form after training for 6 months.

Phelps accepted that it would not be the same the other way around. Speaking of getting in the ring with McGregor he said, “I’d try it, but I’d probably get my arse kicked if I stepped in the ring.” Phelps admitted that the UFC star would steal the show if any such event happened.

Michael enjoys watching other sports in his free time. He is a combat sports lover and was on his feet during the McGregor Vs Mayweather fight. Phelps put down his predictions on Twitter and later congratulated Floyd Mayweather for an unbeaten career score of 50-0.

Referring to the pre-match press conferences, Michael challenged Conor to a swimming race on Twitter. He tweeted ” All of this talk… Should we race as well?? ” tagging Conor McGregor. Other than combat sports Phelps loves baseball as well. He played baseball in his childhood as a catcher.
