Michael Phelps has been a lot more active with his fans, as he mostly interacts with them through his social media. He does post his day-to-day life on the platforms, but one instance is common, which is that many of his posts include his four sons, Boomer, Beckett, Maverick, and Nico. They have featured in a lot of special moments of his life, and the retired swimmer does acknowledge that every time he spends with them is something just out of the world experience for him, as a father.
While enjoying his fatherhood, Phelps hasn’t forgotten about letting his kids be creative. Whether it is swimming or something other than the sport, his children have always come out with something special, which he adores. This time, the four of them have come together to create a heartwarming moment during a fellow Olympian’s marriage proposal, as seen on social media.

Who was the Olympian who attended this special occasion and was the center of attention? It was Michael Phelps’ best friend, Allison Schmitt. She has been friends with the GOAT of swimming since both of them were training under Bob Bowman. It’s been a long time since Schmitt has officially competed in the sport, but she has continued with her life’s different adventures.
This time, too, it was a special adventure for her, and what was it? As seen on her Olympian sister Alex Walsh’s Instagram post, Schmitt walked down the yard with Boomer. However, it was no normal walk, as Phelps’ kid was shirtless, and Schmitt was wearing a blindfold for something special that would be coming her way next. As soon as she lifted her blindfold, she caught sight of her boyfriend, Gavin Walker.
However, it was just any normal sighting, as Walker was lying down on his knees, proposing to her with the engagement ring. Apart from Schmitt’s surprising reaction, their dog was also giving its cameo in the photograph, which would go down forever in their memory lane. For the special occasion, the couple also wore an impressive selection of outfits.
Walker, like a gentleman, was all suited up for the moment in his life where he would be extending his relationship to the next level with Schmitt. He donned a checkered flannel shirt with jeans and leather boots. Schmitt, unaware of the occasion, was wearing what looked like a black pencil skirt and a pink sweater. The Instagram post’s main image featured the engaged couple posing with Phelps’ four children, Boomer, Beckett, Maverick, and Nico, all of whom were wearing different colored shirts. When they were in a line, the words “Will you marry me?” were engraved on them.

Even though Michael Phelps has retired from swimming, he still carries the moniker of GOAT. However, in many instances, when asked, he has revealed that he doesn’t want his children to feel forced to follow in their father’s footsteps. Indeed, if they aspire to become professional swimmers, Phelps would undoubtedly be their staunchest supporter, but he doesn’t want to overly emphasize this, as it could potentially strain their relationship. Just being an ideal father, he enjoys many moments together, and one time he relived a certain memory when his sons Boomer, Beckett, and Maverick attended the “Mud Mania” event.
“My favorite day was Mud Mania Booms final day of kindergarten? a long standing tradition!!” the multiple-time Olympic champion wrote on his social media post, as he got a flashback to his childhood. Furthermore, Phelps revealed that his mother, Debbie, started this tradition by taking pictures of him and his sisters every year as they participated in the enjoyable event and made themselves a mess in the mud.
