Allison Schmitt is a popular American swimmer. She is a four-time Olympian and a ten-time Olympic medalist. She specializes in freestyle events. Allison is one of the USA swimming team’s four captains. Meanwhile, Michael Phelps holds the record for most medals won, with 28, 23 of which were gold. They have a long history of helping and have trained together under the same instructor, Bob Bowman.

Phelps was present when Schmitt earned a spot in her fourth Olympics in the swimming trials in Omaha, Nebraska, in June. They both shed happy tears as he hurried from the grandstand to meet her and offer her his congratulations.

At Tokyo Olympics, Allison reported that Michael Phelps would be there. But he will work with Dan Hicks and Rowdy Gaines as a Primetime NBC correspondent. Allison has always called Phelps her biggest support system.

Allison’s childhood
She has earned so many medals in Olympics. Silver in the 400 freestyle and bronze in the 4×100 free relay. She even believes she can beat the 2009 mark for the quickest 200-meter freestyle.

Allison’s parents gave her birth in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1990. Her parents, Ralph and Gail Schmitt have supported her since she was a little girl. She did her middle school at Canton Charter Academy. Then she and four siblings were raised in Canton, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. Her father is a financial analyst; her mother is a project manager. Allison is always grateful for her parents, who are her biggest supporters.
