Swimming pool and Michael Phelps. These two names are synonymous with each other. Ever since he started swimming, Phelps made the swimming pool his own. It is hard to imagine him being in another sport. However, he is interested in other sports as his candid interview with NBA star Chris Paul, brought out some of the deepest secrets he had.

When asked about what he would do apart from swimming, he opened up on his favorite sports. Golf, Baseball, and Lacrosse! He talked about loving these sports and would have loved to play them if not for swimming.

Michael Phelps’ love for golf

Golf is a sport that he plays often. In fact, he has the longest televised putt in history. Other than that, Phelps loves baseball and revealed how he used to play catcher. Likewise, he also speaks about how he banged his helmet playing a catcher.

“If I could choose anything, I would want to be a golfer. Just because, I’m obsessed with the game. But, in reality, if I had to choose a sport that I was good at, I was a decent baseball player growing up. I played catcher. I was always throwing the mask off. So I was breaking the mask all the time,” said Phelps.

Phelps mentioned different Apart from these two sports, he revealed how he loved to play lacrosse. He spoke about playing the long stick middie position. The LSM position is the most important member of the lacrosse team. He covers an opponent’s best offensive player and plays strong defense. Thus, Phelps spoke about his love for the sport.

“Or a Lacrosse player. I grew up on the east coast. So I was a long stick middie. When I was 11, my coach basically said no more and focus on swim,” said Phelps.

Imagining Phelps with no Olympic medals!

After he revealed his favorite sports, Phelps’ coach made him focus on swimming. Safe to say, he did pretty well. Winning 28 Olympic medals and other World Championships medals, he dominated the swimming pool for nearly a decade and a half.
