Popularly known as the Baltimore Bullet, Michael Phelps is one of the best swimmers on the entire planet. His hard work and dedication helped him reach his peak in no time. The athlete is not just talented but also has a significant personality. 

The number of world records he made in 25 years of his swimming career is way beyond imagination. Although breaking these records will be difficult, David Popovici showed that it is not impossible.

Recently, after breaking Phelps’ record, star teenage swimmer David Popovici was knighted by the President of Romania.

Back in 2003, swimming star Michael Phelps set a new individual record and showcased his skills. Since then, no other swimmer could even go near that benchmark. But, as the saying goes, nothing is impossible. 17-year-old swimmer David Popovici proved the statement right and raised the bar once again.

Furthermore, the young athlete has been knighted by the President for his achievement. It is called the ‘Star of Romania’ or ‘Steaua Romaniei,’ which is the biggest distinction offered by the nation. 

Oh yeah I’m a knight. I’m a knight right now. I am sir David, no I’m not sir, it’s not like in England, I think. I’m not like Anthony Hopkins having to be referred to as sir Anthony Hopkins um David,said the Olympian. 

Apart from him, his coach also got knighted. Moreover, David Popovici revealed that he added this to his portfolio as well.

Besides this, the athlete is also the youngest man to break an individual world record, which in itself is big.

Phelps and his coach had a much deeper connection than just a mere athlete-coach relationship. Furthermore, he added that it was his coach who brought out the best in him. 

He was perfect for me that even if I were to ever swim with anyone else, I would never have the opportunity to experience the things I did because I was challenged by him in different ways that differently to think in a different way,said Phelps.
