Swimming legend Michael Phelps is an inspiration for millions of people. What he has accomplished in his career is definitely an extraordinary feat. Therefore, when the champion was inducted into the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Hall of Fame, Phelps didn’t sing praises for his own glory. Instead, he attempted to motivate young talents, reaching out for their dreams with his precious words.

Michael Phelps is undoubtedly the best swimmer the world has seen to date. With 23 Olympic golds, 39 world records, and eight times world swimmer of the year title, the guy is literally greatness in a nutshell. However, post-retirement, he has transformed his role from a seasoned swimmer to a mental health advocate. And so far, he is doing a phenomenal job.

The swimming legend began by saying, “Where we are in the world. And as you heard from Mike, my biggest journey now is the mental health world.”

Phelps continued, “I am somebody who is a big music guy. ‘The sky is the limit’ was a big song for me… Biggie Smalls. I love Biggie, one of my favorites, but the sky is the limit, and I wasn’t afraid to try and reach for it. I know there are kids out there and I am so excited to see what their dreams and their passions lead them to.”

Clearly, he understands the gravity of the role that motivation plays in giving young minds a little direction so that they can reach out for their dreams and do that efficiently.

Michael, who is a proud father of three sons, shared the picture of them dressed up in matching suits and shoes at the event on his Instagram story and wrote, “My little homies.” Perhaps the kids would have got a taste of how much of a big deal their father is and the legacy he represents.

When Boomer, Beckett, and Maverick will be old enough to realize the legacy of their father, they’ll have a lot to live up to. However, given that Michael is cool with whatever path they choose for themselves, they don’t have to worry about people’s expectations.
