During the 2012 London Olympics, the two GOATs almost met for the first time. But fate had other plans.
When Serena almost met Michael Phelps
When thinking about the Olympic village, one may assume everyone knows everyone. It may be true but what we often forget is not everyone might be familiar with others.
Similarly, even though they were from the same regiment, Serena Williams and Michael Phelps did not know each other. Surprising as it may sound, the two Americans who were the undisputed champions in their respective fields had never met.

They were both passing through security when Phelps noticed Bolt. It was the first time they said hello to each other and engaged in small talk. Phelps was in awe of seeing Bolt up close. “His legs are massive. He looks like a horse. So tall.” said Phelps.
