Parents often want to see their children take after them. And it holds true for sports personalities as well. Athletes usually want to see their children take up their sport, or any sports, for that matter. Therefore, Michael Phelps proudly posted a video of his son performing a trick in the pool.

The swimmer has three sons, Boomer, Beckett, and Maverick. And the video featured his second son Beckett performing the cool underwater trick. And followers of the swimmer are in awe of the video.

Phelps recently posted a video of Beckett trying to perfect a trick that requires a swimmer to dive to the bottom of a water body to perform. The trick in question is the underwater bubble ring. Surprisingly, the Olympian’s second son has almost perfected it.

The 28-time Olympic medalist shared the video on Instagram. It featured the child diving headfirst to the bottom of the pool, where he tried out the trick.

The Flying Fish captioned the video, “This is awesome! Watching @beckettrphelps work on his ring bubbles.” And his longtime coach Bob Bowman and his female counterpart, Katie Ledecky, had the best reactions to the video.

Implying the kid’s already enhanced feel for the water, Ledecky commented, “Better than I can do.” Bowman, too, encouraged the young swimmer to keep at it. He wrote, “Let’s go Becks!!”

The video has garnered almost 22k likes within 17 hours of posting. In addition, many followers wrote in the comments section to inspire the child to pursue greater heights. Beckett is only four years old. And as such, he still has time to figure out what he wants to pursue in the future.

Is the trick difficult to master?

Beckett seems to have almost perfected the trick. It involves blocking one’s nose so as not to let water get in and blowing little air bubbles from the mouth. However, the trick is not as easy as it seems. Therefore, it may take years for a person to reach the level of perfection that the child has.

One needs to pucker their mouth to make the perfect rings, similar to playing the harmonica. And the child has already reached near-perfection at such a young age. Moreover, the child felt at home in the element his father has become synonymous with over the years.

And the internet cannot have enough of the talent displayed by the son of the most decorated Olympian. Additionally, some even drew parallels between the father and son.
