Caeleb Dressel is once again back in the game. While the past couple of weeks were full of doubts about his form, the seven-time Olympic gold medalists proved why he is still the best in the swimming world. He came into the trials for the world championships as the sixth-fastest swimmer in the country. However, when the water settled down, Caeleb was again at the top.

Since coming back from the Tokyo Olympics, Caeleb Dressel was not in great form. In fact, he lost a couple of races in the NCAA events. Perhaps he was just looking for a big stage to showcase his talent, or maybe the change of coach finally worked for him. Notably in November last year, the Olympic champion switched his long-term swim coach Gregg Troy and started training with the University of Florida college team.

Caeleb Dressel drops world’s fastest time this year

Caeleb booked his seat for the world championships in Budapest with a remarkable performance. He did not just win the race in the U.S. swimming trials in Greensboro, N.C but also scored the world’s fastest time in 100m this year.

Now that’s what everyone expects from a world-class swimmer like him. He finished just beside his best for America (46.96 s) with 47.79 s on the clock.

With this sensational finish over Brooks Curry and Ryan Held, he is now part of the world championships team. After the race, Caeleb said, “Way better swim than this morning. What a fun race. Happy for this guy to be going back.”
