Lia Thomas becoming the first transgender woman to win an NCAA Division One championship has sparked endless debate. In fact, many have even challenged her victory in the first place, chalking her win to an unfair advantage.
Thomas’ participation in the NCAA has polarized not only the USA but the entire world. Schools of opinion have been warring against each other about whether or not the NCAA should let Lia continue swimming.
In that vein, other sports governing bodies have also decided to talk and change rules for trans athletes accordingly. Now, in Colorado, former pentathlete Eli Bremer is running for senate, and he opines that the Lia Thomas saga will usher in a sea change in the state.

Senate-aspirant predicts political shift due in Colorado due to Lia Thomas
Colorado has been a democratic state since 2006 (except for Cory Gardner’s Senate victory in 2014). However, former Olympic pentathlete Eli Bremer, who is now a Republican and running for the senate, predicts that is about to change.
Bremer had joined the effort to reform the US Olympic Committee. Now, talking to Fox News, he stated that the Lia Thomas controversy can tip the scale in Republicans’ favor. In fact, he opined that the issue could reverse the Democrats’ ‘war on women’ rhetoric.

“This is a lethal issue for Michael Bennet,” Bremer said, referring to the current US Senator from Colorado. Moreover, he expressed how Democrats have blamed Republicans for not standing up for women. Now, “the tables are completely turned,” he said to Fox News Digital.
Then, he stated how as a Republican, he lead efforts to end sexual abuse in the Olympics. “Now, I’m leading on this issue,” Bremer stated. He even said that “Michael Bennet refuses to stand with women” on the issue. Bennet currently serves as a co-chair of the Congressional Olympic and Paralympic Caucus.

Bremer even told Fox News that the Left is “absurd” for saying “Lia Thomas has no advantage”. “You can’t deny that a biological male has an advantage, especially post-pubescent,” the former Olympian said.
Bremer warns of a coming tsunami
Bremer stated on Fox News how the issue of transgender identity is a “tsunami coming in”. He used schools as an example, expressing how they’ve encouraged children to embrace a trans identity upon getting confused about their gender.
Furthermore, Bremer added some takes from his own campaign’s internal polling. He stated that a lot of Republican as well as unaffiliated voters are against males identifying as transgender women and competing against women in sports.
