Surfing legend Kelly Slater recently launched a new footwear brand. This novel brand will compete with WWE legend
Dwayne Johnson’s and NBA star Michael Jordan’s shoe brands which are tremendously successful in the market. While the basketball star has his own Jordan brand which promotes Air Jordan shoes, Johnson recently announced a new training shoe in collaboration with UFC. In a recent Instagram post, the surfing icon disclosed exciting details about how the shoes can benefit buyers.Elaborating on how a limited edition of this novel brand name KLLY is now available, Slater spoke about how this brand is inspired by turtles. Further, he also disclosed exciting details about which materials the shoes are made from and the design of these shoes.
World Surf League champion’s amazing, new venture
The surfing legend stated,
“The all-new KLLY sandal is designed to wear all day and support your body’s natural alignment. Inspired by the moon and the ocean, the top sole mimics the moon’s surface and the bottom sole reflects the foundation of a turtle’s shell.” This offers stiff competition to ‘The Rock’s new brand which offers a lightweight sole and Jordan’s Air Jordan sneakers which have a carbon fibre plate to give runners speed.Slater further described how the sandals are made from recycled plastic (rPET) and BLOOM which is a sustainable product made from algae. He also displayed the design of the sole in his recent Instagram video.

This is not the only time the surfer has completed with Jordan and Johnson. Earlier, the surfing champion also launched another sustainable product, which made him a competitor of Johnson’s and Jordan’s products.
Kelly Slater backs another novel brand
The surfing champion founded the sustainable clothing brand named Outerknown. This brand has partnered with Bergman Rivera to get organic cotton for producing sustainable clothing. This brand gives direct competition to Jordan Clothing and Dwayne Johnson’s clothing brand Under Armour. By focusing on sustainability, the surfer is clearly targeting environmentally conscious users who take additional efforts to reduce the negative impacts on the environment.
Slater’s footwear and clothing brand is proof of his efforts to reduce the damage to ecosystems and make a difference. It remains to be seen whether the surfing icon’s brands can surpass Jordan and Johnson’s brands in terms of popularity and profits in future.
