The Billabong Pipeline Masters, named and sponsored by the namesake Australian surfing company, is one of the most elite surfing competitions that is held in Oahu, Hawaii. Winning it is considered a mark of achievement for any young surfer starting out. And local Oahu-based surfer, then a 21-year-old, won the competition in 2004.
