The Brazilian professional surfer has the 2014,2018 and 2021 WSL World Championships under his belt. The 29-year-old has been surfing all his life and performs his best when under pressure. Recently, Medina posted a video on his Instagram, dropping a perfect jaw-dropping barrel ride routine that captivated people online.

The 3x WSL champion uploaded a visual treat for his 11 million followers on Instagram yesterday. The video with over 400,000 views has reminded the surfing world of the greatness of Gabriel Medina’s surfing skills. The video shows the Brazilian surfer almost swallowed by the rising wave, only for him to emerge victorious from the engulfing spray of water.

Back in 2022, the goofy stance surfer had pulled out from the WSL Championship in order to focus on his mental well-being. The surfer had used his social media platform to inform his fans that, “The past few months have been a difficult time for me personally and it has taken a toll, as such, I?ve decided to withdraw from the start of the 2022 WSL Championship Tour.”?

He further wrote, ?I don?t know how long it will take, but I aim to return to the Championship Tour as soon as I am ready.??2022 is in the history books now and with his latest barrel ride move,?the surfing world hopes to see the Brazilian make a strong comeback this year.

After a disappointing run last year, Gabriel Medina entered the 2023 Western Australia Margaret River Pro. The Brazilian used his aggressive power surfing and reached the finals alongside Griffin Colapinto. For the finals, the 29-year-old brought out the big guns and dropped an 8 and a 9.5. Colapinto could only come up with a 12.27 and leading to Medina winning his first-ever Margaret River competition.
