Watch: Surfing Enthusiast Gets Wiped Out With a Brutal Fall During Recent Feat

Surfing isn’t always a cool breeze to sail through. Sometimes, the towering waves can become an intimidating affair that makes surfers tremble and have dry mouths. New Jersey is often cited as one of the most sought-after havens that attracts millions of surfers from across the world. However, the recent storm that rocked NJ last week gave the waves unprecedented power and surfers had a tough time mitigating the monolithic waves.

Across the internet, enthusiasts can witness the mighty waves, in equal parts of shock and awe. And, in a recently posted social media post, the waves can be seen in all their glory. However, surfers didn’t want to back down from the sudden challenge and rushed to the seas to feel the thrill themselves. One such surfer ended up being toyed around, and we’re pretty jittery ourselves as we watch the short video clip. Was this tantalizing, albeit precarious sight more so than the wrath of Mother nature doing her thing or a surfers’ fantasy?

New Jersey waves inundate surfers

An Instagram post by CBS New York is enthralling surfers across the world by showcasing just how impactful the recent storm has been for New Jersey. Waves equalling two-story buildings can be seen pushing surfers to the limit of their skills. The Bay Head Ocean County is one of the most renowned surfing spots in the United States, and one surfer seems to have taken a bigger bit than he could handle.

While surfers do love massive waves, the recent video clip shows one surfer biting the dust trying to scale an approximately 20-foot-high wave. The surfer loses control and splashes into the water. Ryan Simalchik, the photographer who captured the eyebrow-raising moment, shared his thoughts on the waves’ nature from that day.

Simalchik says some waves were around an earth-shattering 25 feet, while most others were within the 15-20 feet range. Another photographer, Ryan Mack, headed to the beach to witness the storm’s effects himself. Being 5 minutes from his home and seeing such a natural phenomenon boggled his mind, confessed Mack. The impending exhilaration of riding these waves should never be sacrificed at the expense of one’s life.

Surfing to become more hazard-free soon

Another eyewitness also said the cold and dark-colored waters looked intimidating and onlookers couldn’t stop screaming. And yet, another correspondent said, “…this is what we live for“. While such natural occurrences continue to thrill and pacify surfers, new projects across the nation give hope to provide enthusiasts a safe space to practice their wave-riding skills.
