Surfing will always go down in history as the most exhilarating sport there is. Growing up at Oahu’s North Shore, Nathan Florence has lived his life as a surf auteur. Growing up with two brothers, no day was a dull surfing day for him, especially during the winters. In the Slab Tour 2023, Florence, the surfluencer, tried taming the gorgeous waves, but left his fans in a frenzy.

Nathan Florence’s life came full circle as the latest Slab Tour embraced him in his domicile, Hawaii. The pipeline legend slayed the Hawaiian slab surfing event, but faced a hard blow. Recently, a resurgence of a video was seen wherein he struggled to manipulate the rough waves by sheepishly falling off whack.

The brother of two-time WSL champ John John Florence, Nathan Florence resorts to his social media to post his wins and failures oftentimes. In the same vein, he posted his Slab Tour wipe out moment with some hospital glimpses as well. He penned, “… what an incredible ride this years tour has been. I thought last year was wild, this year was just insanity, more slams and thicker barrels…” He further shared the clip on this Instagram story as well.

Speaking about his career milestone achievement while looking back at his thrilling season, he wrote, “Roughly 12 Months, 11 Countries, a Fractured Back, Fractured Elbow, and to many hectic sessions to count…. so much learned surfing so many different waves of consequence so frequently! Thanks for all the support here and on youtube for following along.”

Having said so, he also wishes to make a comeback at the Slab Tour 2024. As exhilarating as the video looks, the wound dressing in-between couldn’t be ignored. Popular for surviving inside barrels and keeping his calm in his endurance runs, Florence faced a similar wipe out a while ago.

Florence’s Skeleton Bay wipeout

The Namibian shores once witnessed the youngster making winning strides. Vans Surfing resorted to its Instagram handle to accolade Florence’s Skeleton Bay adventures. The caption said, “@Nathan_Florence logged 12 hours and over 32 miles in a single day. Watch his historic endurance effort on YouTube.” Since Nate is also an avid Youtuber with 404k followers, he posts extensive surfing videos there as well.

Just when he was smoothly surfing inside the stunning barrel, Florence flew off his surfboard and landed in the waters. The clean wipeout reminded fans of rodeo events, when bulls toss riders in the air. Thus, with some “Rodeo style” like comments, fans had a funny take on the fall. Hopefully, he continues with his big-wave shenanigans in 2024 as well.
