A surfing spree and a rescue operation….that’s the story of two friends, who together saved a dog from an isolated sea cliff cave. Many people who enjoy activities like surfing and hiking often take their pets along with them. However, sometimes, pets may be lost, or worse, during such adventures. Likewise, last year a couple took their dog Stella with them to the Juan de Fuca trail. Unfortunately, Stella got separated from the owners amidst the hike.
Nevertheless, three months later, two surfing companions, Zach Regan, and Matty Johnson found the stranded dog during their surfing trip and reunited Stella with her owners. While paddling through waves on their board, the two Canadian surfers spotted the dog stuck in a cave in the middle of the sea. Nevertheless, they took a detour and sped towards the cliff to save the dog.

Johnson stated, “we were trying to beat an upcoming storm, but we made the decision to save the dog”. After liberating Stella from the cave, the pair snuggled her into a backpack to keep her mellow and warm. Once they reached the shore, the surfers started the search for the pet’s owners.
The owners who had, “long since consigned to the death of their dog”, were astounded to see Stella again, and elated to reunite with their lost dog. “There were terrific feelings all around”, added Johnson.

After “almost being bitten in the face, a reef, big waves” the pair with their unparalleled moxie, was able to successfully save the pet. Clearly, the duo did an incredible job of bringing back Stella to the safety of the shore. Matty Johnson told GNN about their rescue operation because he wanted to, “spread good news and inspire people to put themselves out there when the chance arises”. It was one selfless deed, don’t you think?
