What scares you the most about the sea? The roiling water, the endless depths, or the menacing, sharp-toothed sharks? The sharks, with their vicious bites, probably take the cake. Imagine surfing on a beautiful day, with the waves singing their gushing song and the surfboard cutting through warm waters. Then bam! One feels like they just got hit by a truck and sharp teeth sink in.
A similar situation took place in Virginia Key, an 863-acre barrier island in Miami, Florida. A woman was viciously attacked by a ferocious shark. Not only did the predator of the sea attack her, but it also doubled down. The only thing that can be worse than a shark bite is two of them.

A woman in her 50s was windsurfing near Virginia Key when her day took a turn for the worse. According to a report on the incident by NBC6, the incident took place on Tuesday. The woman, who was part of a windsurfing club, saw something dark pass her by while she was out in the water. Little did she know it was a feral shark waiting to attack, which is exactly what it did.

However, her misfortune was that she had to suffer through multiple bites. Another member of the club, Jarvis Wade, recalled the incident and described it saying, “She comes running up the beach and she just was saying that she just got hit by a shark. And we thought she was joking.”
Wade, and the others, however soon realized exactly how serious the situation was. He then added, “And she ended up taking pulling down her wetsuit. And then we saw the back of her leg where it was hit pretty good twice.” The bites, thankfully, were not fatal.
Officials respond as windsurfer mates dial 911
After everyone present realized that the woman was actually bitten, they called emergency services. Wade recalled, “One of the other guys in the group ran and got an ace bandage, wrapped it up, and we called the lifeguards over. And then I called 911 and reported the bite,” Wade said. The Miami Fire Rescue Officials also reported that they responded to the incident at around 3 p.m.

Jarvis Wade also added, “And then probably 15 minutes later, the ambulance showed up and they transported to the hospital.” The woman was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. She was declared to be in stable condition and was even able to walk around. The shark might have bit the woman twice, but her courage was twice more powerful than the shark’s bite.
