Kelly Slater is one of a kind. He has won the tournament 11 times, a record matched by none. This has made people consider him the greatest surfer ever, as he has also maintained his dominance through his 50s. Kelly also holds the record of being the oldest surfer still active in the surfing community. Thus, with all these titles and accolades to his name, many might start to think that Kelly is not human at all.

But it seems that the surfing legend might actually not be perfect. This became evident after he made a mistake that might land UFC CEO Dana White into deep waters. Ahead of the UFC 309 event, Dana White contacted the surfer for a new piece of information. But Kelly made the conversation public without noticing one small detail, which caused all the ruckus.

Kelly Slater might have just caused a huge problem for UFC CEO Dana White. He uploaded an Instagram story on November 16th, with a screenshot of a message sent by Dana to Kelly. He wanted to inform the surfer that he had just got a new number. “Kelly, it’s Dana White; this is my new cell.”

The surfer decided to reply to him on the story itself, captioning it, “@danawhite good to hear from you, and good luck with the UFC card today!” It was a nice gesture ahead of UFC 309. But, in his excitement, the surfer might cause a huge problem for Dana.

In the screenshot uploaded by Kelly, the UFC CEO’s new number was visible to the public above the text. This caused Dana White to upload an Instagram story saying, “I changed my number and Kelly Slater put it on IG!” Kelly, realizing his error, apologized to him in another story, saying, “Shit, sorry.” Thus, this was a major goof-up by the surfer, which may cause some PR-related issues for Dana White. However, the situation might not boil down into a larger controversy, much to the relief of Kelly, as he is already in the middle of one of them involving Surf Abu Dhabi.

one of the 11 spots the WSL will be travelling to next year. The place boasts of the largest artificial wave in the world and is thus considered one of the best places to surf in the world right now. However, it has still managed to get criticism from fans. This is because of the exorbitant price rates in the place.

According to Surf Abu Dhabi’s website, people would have to spend up to AED 3500 just to surf in the wave for 90 minutes. This is too high for the fans and has made them reconsider their decision to travel there. “Is this for real? 3500 AED for 90 minutes? Absolutely ridiculous,” complained one fan on social media. However, according to the organisers, this price is justified because of the extremely brilliant presentation of the place. Jaseem Bu Alaba Al Zadi, the chairman of Modon Properties, who joined hands with Kelly Slater’s KSWC to create the place, talked about Surf Abu Dhabi in a statement.

He said, “It embodies the city’s futuristic vision for sustainable urban planning, building vibrant communities, and developing a diversified economy that boosts the emirate’s competitiveness in all fields.”  Thus, these things are what sets Kelly Slater’s Surf Abu Dhabi apart from normal places, which is why the rate is high. While the prices may drop in the future, right now they seem to be sticking to it.
