Her life was going quite steadily, working as a songwriter, surfer, and model. However, one freak accident has threatened her entire being. Justine was driving home to Reunion Island from La Grande Chalopue, a journey that has garnered an immaculate reputation for its scenic nature.

But danger awaited her there as a hunk of metal fell from a van carrying it into the road. The problem started when a car ran over it, causing it to launch itself into the air. In unfortunate circumstances, Justine’s car passed by the location. The metal landed on her windshield, smashing it into pieces. The falling debris caused harm to the surfer’s head.

Since then, the 31-year-old has been fighting for her life in the ICU. Tim McKenna, a photographer, proclaimed the news to the world. He declared the news to the public along with a carousel of photos. McKenna also used Justine Mauvin’s song Waterman in the post.

The caption of the post read, “Longboarder, model, singer, and song writer @justinemauvin was hit by a piece of metal that fell off from a workers truck in front of her while she was driving on her island home in Reunion 2 days ago. Justine Mauvin is very fond of surfing and has competed professionally in longboard competitions like WSL before. In fact, she has won the French longboard title twice in 2014 and 2016, leading her to rank third in the world. But her wide interests are not only limited to the sport, as she’s a very accomplished singer too.

Her stage name is Sibu Manai, a Metawai expression meaning, “Cherish the flower, make it blossom, make it flourish.” She has performed numerous times on stage while also composing her own music. A woman of her talent must attain more time to showcase her talents to the world. A similar sentiment reverberated across social media as many in the surfing community expressed their sorrow at the news.

The surfing community prays for Justin Mauvin’s speedy recovery

Many members of the surfing community prayed for Justine Mauvin’s quick recovery. As the surfer is still fighting for her life in the ICU, no concrete update about her current health has come to light. However, according to Beachgrit.com, local media has confirmed that her condition is quite serious. “Sending her prayers🙏❤️” said one concerned individual.

A lot of repercussions from this accident could suffice. With the metal affecting her head, there is no guarantee that she will return to normalcy. However, Justine Mauvin is one of the most accomplished athletes in surfing. So her fighting spirit could be on full display in a bid to get back to full fitness. “Pray for full recovery to get back to life. 🙏👏🙏❤” read one comment.
