When it comes to surfing, Kelly Slater needs no introduction. Slater is known for his dominance of the World Surf League. Currently, the pro surfer has won WSL championship titles 11 times. He is also considered to have had the most decorated career in surfing history. Slater, who is 50 years old, is still standing strong on his own and still dominating the ocean.

In 2015, Kelly Slater celebrated his clothing line launch. He arranged a party in Malibu for the launch. It wasn’t surprising that the party was attended by a lot of Hollywood, sports, and fashion stars. After all, it was the pro surfer who was about to go big in the apparel league.

Not so surprising after all

Well, it was the party of the 11-time WSL champion, Kelly Slater. It wasn’t a surprise that the big names in Hollywood, fashion, and sports attended. Slater also had a motive for all this, as it was a launch party.

The party attendees were none other than Julia Roberts, Jason Statham, Gerard Butler, Chris Hemsworth, and Elsa Pataky. They were there to celebrate the pro surfer’s clothing line launch, and the brand was called “Outerknown.”

Later on, Kim Gordon and Anthony Kiedis joined the party with athletes Kassia Meador, Stephanie Gilmore, and Gabrielle Reece. Following that, they were joined by The Elder Statesman’s Greg Chait and Mikoh’s Kalani and Oleema Miller. Slater also brought the founder of Kering-owned Volcom, Richard Woolcott, to the party. Big names for the big games indeed!

Understandably, the GOAT surfer’s party would be filled up with famous people. There was also an agenda that he wanted to sneak into the party.

Big plans of Kelly Slater

As a world-renowned surfer, Kelly Slater has to keep his brand the same as his level that is on top of everything. During the launch party, he was more concerned about the feedback that he got for the clothing outline. He wants to be “sustainable.”

He did put his name on the line for the brand, so he had to be responsible because it could make or break him. As money wasn’t an issue for him, he wanted to focus on the best quality his customers could get.
