For years, there has been an obsession among photographers and surfers alike, to capture that perfect surf shot, the one that makes your soul sing. To achieve this, surfers and photographers dedicate their precious time and energy, often surfing for hours at length. Not surprising, since waves can be elusive, and capturing something so dynamic and ever-changing is a challenge in itself.

That is not to say that people don’t succeed. Many have, which is why we have the privilege of witnessing such beautiful shots of the ocean and the surfers. Thomas Fotomas, for example, takes everyone’s breath away with his unique technicolor shots. Recently, a video surfaced on social media which showed the perfect wave clip.

Is there even something along the lines of a perfect surfing video? Well, after watching this one, you might just agree to the notion of a perfect surfing video. The video was posted by Joey Keogh on Instagram, and it showed an aerial shot of the surfer riding a perfect barrel wave from start to finish without losing a beat. Surfing photography is considered to be one of the hardest things any human could ever attempt. However, it seems like this clip has achieved the impossible.

The barrel wave in itself was one of the most flawless ever caught on camera. Something needs to be said about the videography skills of the person capturing the video as well, as the frame was just right. Joey Keogh is an individual living on the northern beaches of Sydney. He is a plumber by profession and a surfer by passion, and his utmost belief is originality. Therefore, he has made it his life’s mission to form some unquestionably original and gorgeous art through surfing. Hence, his attempt to create the most perfect surfing video to ever grace the internet.

Usually, swells in Sydney are unpredictable, rowdy, and can be fickle to ride. However, it seems like Joey has this skill down pat. This is probably what resulted in this gorgeous video riding a next-to-perfect wave.

Videography while surfing can be a hazardous activity as well. Riding a wave with a qualifier of getting a shot might lead to a loss in concentration, even injuries. However, Keogh seems experienced enough in this regard and continues to ride the wave perfectly.

The video showcases the majestic beauty of the ocean, the dynamic captivity of the waves it produces, and the intense prowess of the surfers who ride these waves day in and day out, hoping to catch the ultimate waves of their lives.
