This may surprise some fans, but he had one too many layers to witness, decipher, and enjoy. The music maestro was also a maestro at sports, and surfing wasn’t the only thing he was good at.

One wouldn’t be making an understatement if they said that Jimmy Buffett was synonymous with timeless bliss. The unmatched and effortless style of Buffett resonated with the American public looking forward to a peaceful and fun life. Buffett made even occasional beachgoers crave the beach more and more. However, the musician took an unusual route and traveled to the mountains himself. Buffett went to Aspen in 1972. The magic of the city washed over him and he couldn’t help learning skiing in 1975-76. In fact, he even became very good at it. The legendary musician loved his holiday in the mountains so much that he bought a house there. While the beach boy adopted the sport of Aspen, he also left his own mark in the city.
The surfing and skiing expert was known for hosting wild parties at his house in the mountains. Buffett’s escapades to Aspen involved skiing, singing, parties, and enjoying with the people of the community. The sporting bug had bitten Buffett quite hard, as he also joined the local softball team in Aspen. He also socialized with different musicians in Aspen, which included his very good friend, John Denver. A lot of people don’t know about Buffett’s time at Aspen because he never made songs about them. However, Buffett started making good music and gaining recognition after he traveled to Aspen in the 1970s.

Skiing, surfing, and back-to-back live performances
Jimmy Buffett was a community man through and through. He ventured to different places for the experience as well as the people. While his most recent Instagram feed is full of surfing videos, Buffett enjoyed skiing at Aspen in his prime. In fact, he had become a bonafide skiing expert and visited the mountains for more than 50 years. Buffett worked hard and had a busy schedule. He performed for around 150 days of the year for his ever-increasing fans.
