In the video, the interviewer, Brisa Colon questioned visitors and local shop owners regarding the popularity of the small heartstopping creature. Out of them, Mike Harris, representing the California Fish and Wildlife, vocalizes his worries, expressing the need for timely action.  

He said, “We’re in that situation where if she does have a bad interaction and bites somebody, how come you haven’t done something sooner? Further continuing, “I know there are folks out there that don’t want us to intervene with this animal but again our goal is to find that balance we want to take care of the animal and the natural resources but  also to protect humans.”Following Harris’s voice, one more young kid added a unique perspective.

He said, “I would rather the otter on my surfboard other than my hand; I would not want my hand to be loose.” His words underscore the impact that creatures can have on both wildlife and public safety. However, despite these concerns, the irresistible allure of the otter continues to spread rapidly, attracting a wave of tourists to the area.

As per Woodward,  otters 841 usually maintain a distance from humans. Her uniqueness might be rooted in her past, being the offspring of Otter 723. But here they are known for mingling with surfers. The local economy enjoys a positive surge with visitors flocking to witness this beautiful visit. Surfing community, especially, find joy in riding waves alongside their adorable otter friends, forging a magical connection between humans and nature.
