“My Heart Is Warmed by This”: Surfing World Melts Watching ‘Wholesome’ Father-Son Moment as the Two Take Over the High Waves

Kids are amused when they see people surfing. The rewarding challenge and feeling of freedom while surfing sparks the fire of amusement in them. Parents’ surfing habits also play a role in the generation of surfing as a hobby in kids. There are also surfing schools that train kids surfing to develop their aquatic skills at an early age. However, some fathers take it upon themselves and train their kids to surf. The advantage such training hold is the sense of trust the kid would have in his trainer.

This sense of trust forms the base which propels his surf teachings and helps him develop skills fast. An instance of this is evident from a clip that is going viral on social media. The clip drew the attention of online surfers who were amazed by the kid’s efforts.

Wholesome Father-Son Surfing Trip

On June 10, 2023, surfing unlimited posted a clip on its Instagram page of a kid surfing along with his father. The clip became an instant hit among the netizens. In the post caption, the uploader wrote “First wave at 4!” with an emoji.

In the clip, a father is teaching his son to surf. In the beginning, the son is lying on the board and the father is waiting for the right wave. As the high wave approaches the father pushes the son’s surfboard forward. The son starts paddling with his hands and the father reaches to him paddling with his hand. Then they both ride the wave. After a few seconds, the son stands on the board holds his father as support, and rides like a pro.

The whole time the father was holding the boy’s surf while balancing his own. The clip was shot by ‘The Bucket Family List’. It was started by the Gee family who are family traveling journalists.  The post got more than four thousand nine hundred likes and many appreciable comments from the netizens.

Warming Reaction from the Online Surfers

The clip got warming comments and appreciation for the efforts of the father and son. The comment that came from a netizen was, “Congratulations to the teacher there. You’re doing awesome man” congratulating the father on his teaching effort. One online surfer wrote, “That hard strike stance mans a surfer. ….. Great” appreciating the effort of the duo. Another online surfer wrote, “Congratulations on the teaching. I’m sure if he becomes a surfer, he’ll never forget these moments…” realizing the importance of such effort in the life of the kid. In another comment, one said, “My heart is warmed by this” describing her emotions after watching the clip. Another netizen said, “Yo that’s a cool Dad!! Awsome” appreciating the care the father is giving to his son.

The father and son surfing clip displays the importance of emotions and trust in learning surfing. It is a valuable lesson for the kid that he will remember forever.
