Hailing from the motherland of surfing, Jamie O’Brien’s unfathomed zeal is enlivening. What makes him exceptional is his disinclination towards chasing titles or external recognition. Restricting his passion only to the sport, he is a remarkable Freesurfer. Although he is active on social media platforms, that showcases his finesse. However, his recent Facebook update got the surfing world trembling.
In the video, O’Brien updated his fans about his latest misadventure while surfing at the Pipeline. He broke his surfboard after a wave hit him head-on and that was not it for the athlete.

Taking to his social media, the Hawaiian native shared footage of his menacing experience while cruising through the gigantic waves. Pretty stoked about the day, Brien jumped into the water with his board. But moments later, he came back with his pink surfboard slashed in two pieces. He exclaimed, “I broke my board.”
Narrating what went down, he said, “I literally picked up over the falls and slammed so hard on the reef. Think I hit my helmet and all the pad on my back suit. That was gnarly.” Indeed, a ghastly incident. However, the YouTube sensation’s distinguished prowess helped him survive the potentially fatal encounter.
“Lucky I broke my board and not myself,” the 39-year-old surfer hilariously remarked. Surprisingly, he rushed to a store and got himself a brand-new board, and swung back into action balancing on the Pipeline waves. The video was captioned, “I Broke My Board at Pipeline! Surfing Can Be Dangerous Sometimes,” giving us a real-time glimpse of the surfer’s regular adventures. Surfing is alright, but guess what he actually struggles in?
Jamie O’Brien’s off-court struggles
As per a previous YouTube video, the American icon opened up about his struggles with waxing a surfboard. Apparently, he was getting ready to surf the Banzai Pipeline in Oahu, Hawaii.
