In her TikTok video, the surfer shared a captivating story, captioning it as “the time I mistook a great white shark for a dolphin… at least there’s a happy ending.” The video, spanning 58 seconds, documented the unfolding events. She recalled, “Right from the start, this day just had a super weird vibe.” The gloomy weather and the absence of other surfers struck her as unusual. However, being a regular in the water, she didn’t find it completely abnormal. As she paddled out, approximately 30 minutes later, she spotted something thrashing about 20 feet beyond the waves.

Despite seeing a flock of birds circling the area, she wasn’t initially scared since dolphins often exhibit similar behavior. She enjoyed the spectacle for about five minutes until a lifeguard boat arrived and began circling the thrashing entity. Realizing it wasn’t a dolphin, the lifeguard urged her to return to shore, revealing it was a great white shark. Despite the unsettling encounter, her love for surfing remained unwavering, sharing a lighthearted anecdote about a sand shark sucking on her toes. This astonishing tale left surf enthusiasts shocked, yet it failed to dampen her passion for riding the waves.
