Surfing is one of the most fun sports to be a part. More than that, surfing is not restricted to any age category. When it comes to surfing, two things strike the mind, first is the surfing legend himself, Kelly Slater. And the second is the ravishing beaches like Jefferys Bay or more commonly known as J Bay. It is one of the most famous surfing destinations in the world, with glorious sunshine and beautiful beaches. Recently, the two famous surfing references were caught together during the Corona Open at J Bay.
A few days ago, Kelly Slater competed in the Corona Open at J-Bay which began on 13th July. But the victory was secured by Australian surfing pro, Jack Robinson who considered Slater the greatest of all time. Robinson took advantage of a long barrel ride and pulled a stop on the 11-time World Champion. Despite the loss, Slater and J Bay were seen celebrating the uniqueness of each other.

Kelly Slater was absent from surfing for a while due to his health problems, but he made a comeback in Corona-Open at J Bay. However, it did not go how Slater wanted it to and finished in last place. A magazine author, Paul Evans witnessed Slater’s performance and said, “Safe to say he’s not very happy.” The Australian surfer Jack Robinson won the match with his phenomenal performance. The thrilling battle was won by a 15.77 to 12.87 score by Robinson.
However, Slater accepted the defeat in an unruffled manner and his performance did not back him down to enjoy the beautiful beaches of J Bay. He recently captured a pleasing dusk image of J Bay beach and posted it on his Instagram story and wrote “J-Bay.” In an interview with the Surfee, Slater appreciated the scenic beauty of J Bay by saying, “Our last few times to J-Bay, we’ve spent lay days at nature reserves. I’ve been part of an anti-poaching initiative there that’s protecting Rhinos. The wildlife in South Africa is pretty insane in and out of the water.”
He appreciated J Bay’s efforts to protect the flora and fauna species with an anti-poaching approach. In 2013, Slater lost his semi-final to Mick Fanning at J Bay, but that did not stop him to celebrate the beauty of the beaches.
