Not Once, but Twice 50-Year-Old Surfing Icon Kelly Slater Was Linked to Leonardo DiCaprio’s Exes

Legendary professional surfer Kelly Slater is one of the greatest to play the sport. He has several records in his name and has an incredible three decades of competing experience in surfing. Slater has gone through everything. He has won, lost, struggled to win, and even had a few near-death experiences in the water.

However, Slater never backed away from competing. Kelly has a unique record of winning the title as the youngest and the oldest competitor in the sport. He won his first title in 1992 when he was just 20 years old and won his last title in 2011 when he was 39 years old. Other than surfing, Slater has been also in the limelight for his relationships.

Kelly Slater had dated multiple exes of a legendary actor

Kelly Slater has been always in attraction for his dating life. The attraction increases furthermore when he dated two of Leonardo DiCaprio’s exes. Kelly dated one of Leo’s ex, Gisele Bundchen, immediately after she broke up with Leonardo in 2005. They dated nearly for a year and broke up. Reportedly, their fans were heartbroken after this breakup as they saw immense romantic potential in the couple.

Later, Kelly came into a relationship with the Israeli model, Bar Refaeli, in 2007. This was the second instance when Kelly Slater was linked up with Leonardo DiCaprio’s ex.

However, Gisele Bundchen later married the legendary American football quarterback, Tom Brady, in 2009. Moreover, the couple recently filer for their divorce in 2022. 

Slater is not out with 11 titles at 50

Kelly Slater is 50 years old. However, he denies retiring and continues to compete in professional surfing. He is a surfer with most World Championship titles and is aiming for more. However, he won his last WT more than 10 years ago, he still has the fire alive to win more. 

Slater also has the record of winning back-to-back five world titles in the 90s. He mostly dominated the 90s, and he went out of competition. However, he came back in the early 2000s to take back some more titles. Indeed, he succeeded in the quest and won three more titles in the next decade and one in 2011.

Kelly Slater had a co-incidental relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio. He went on to date two of his exes in the 2000s. However, the relationships didn’t last long, and parted ways in a year or so in both instances.
