Still breathing after all that
Makalii Andrade got caught in the most gruesome surfing accident ever earlier this month. He recently, recovered from it and shared his story.
“Never gonna breathe the same…never gonna speak the same…never gonna eat the same. I knew that it was bad because as soon as I went underwater the ocean was pouring down my throat. I’ve been in the fire department almost 26 years. I’ve never seen so much blood in my life. He was right there holding my airway talking to me telling me I wasn’t gonna die,” Andrade told after recovering from the fatal surf accident as reported by WYMT Mountain News.
While Andrade was riding a wave, he accidentally fell and got hit on his neck; an injury that tore through his neck. Honestly, the situation is too gruesome to think about, let alone live it. Luckily, he was saved by the people nearby and a trauma surgeon who was present there. A fundraiser has been organized for the surfer, and it is wholesome to watch the whole surfing community helping him to pay his medical bills. Out of the $1000 goal, currently, $25,000 and more have been raised for this fearsome surfer and firefighter.
