Minutes After Going Undercover on the Internet, Chris Hemsworth Invites Ben Affleck to a ‘Shirt-On’ Surfing Adventure

What are the odds that Thor and Batman are side-by-side riding a big wave on an ocean? Going by Chris Hemsworth’s latest invite to Ben Affleck, if the latter accepts it, fans might actually have a celebrity-worthy moment on the water. Speaking to GQ recently, Hemsworth extended the Gone Girl star a warm invite for surfing together with him. While Affleck wasn’t there, the ‘God of Thunder’ was responding to a fan comment on one of his past Instagram posts.

It is no secret that Chris Hemsworth loves surfing. He revealed during promotions for his movie Extraction 2, that surfing prevents him from losing control and gives him a sense of healing and balance. When he came up with the potential situation of surfing with Ben Affleck, the Thor actor welcomed the prospect with open arms.

Chris Hemsworth would love to go surfing with Ben Affleck

Chris Hemsworth recently went undercover for British GQ, reading fan comments and questions they have for him from various social media sites. At one point, when he entered Instagram, Hemsworth read out a fan comment on one of his posts, “Chris why don’t you invite Ben surfing so he doesn’t have to take his shirt off”.

The comment was made in reference to Ben Affleck talking to Insider during their recent promotion of the movie AIR. About Australia, Affleck said that his best friend Matt Damon loves it and he spends time with Chris Hemsworth every time he visits. So, when Affleck was asked if he would do the same, he said that he might but they are keeping their shirts on. Ben Affleck was joking about the fact that Chris Hemsworth has a jacked physique that might put any man to shame standing next to him.

When Hemsworth read out Affleck’s comment from an article, and replied, “Well, he… he can come surfing. Ben, come surfing and keep your shirt on. Keep it all on. Let’s keep it above board and we’ll put a wetsuit on you buddy, don’t worry”. While Ben Affleck is yet to respond to Hemsworth on his proposal, his love of surfing may not keep him from accepting it for long.

Both Ben Affleck and his wife Jennifer Lopez love surfing, and the latter even made a surfing analogy once to explain parenthood. While on the other hand, Chris Hemsworth loves surfing so much, that he flew from Prague, where he was shooting Extraction 2, to a commune in France called Hossegor, famous for surf locations.

Hemsworth believes surfing gives him a sense of feeling like nothing else, and it has been his favorite pastime growing up in Byron Bay New South Wales, and Mona Vale, Sydney. He has also surfed with legends such as Kelly Slater and with Ben Affleck, it would only be another fun time together.
