While some seek solace in the waves of the ocean, others seek adventure. 11-year-old, Carter Doorley from Brigantine, New Jersey proved that age is just a number by achieving milestones ahead of his age. The young surfer made a splash in the surfing community by chasing 1000 waves in 1000 days, one wave for each day. As of 14th February, Doorley has completed 996 days and will achieve the 1000 waves earmark by Saturday 18th February.

The New Jersey native started his 1000 days surfing spree during the pandemic. When it hit, all the playgrounds and skate parks were closed, but the beaches weren’t. Grabbing the opportunity to pursue his love for surfing, Doorley took his surfboard and paddled into the ocean.
