Nature is an elusive thing to capture. It requires a professional photographer, one that has the skills to shoot the most pristine moments, even if those moments are rare and require several attempts to get it right. Kirvan Baldassari is one such photographer who achieved a similarly proud feat with a towering wave in the ocean.

Baldassari is a Tahiti-based photographer who recently took a stunning photo of a huge wave and posted it on Instagram. It was just one out of a series of similarly spectacular photographs that looked straight out of a surfing enthusiast’s dream. Baldassari didn’t achieve them easily.

Kirvan Baldassari recently took to his Instagram and wrote, “I’ve been dreaming of shooting this wave for a while now and oh boy it didn’t disappoint”. His excitement, which was crystal clear in his words, was completely justified by the series of photographs of the waves he posted alongside his caption. These photographs were akin to the beautiful oceanic waves captured by Josh Tabone recently.

Baldassari continued, “3 days, 1500km, and 5500 photos later”, just showing the amount of effort, patience, hard work, and determination required to get these stunning results. Each picture of a wave is larger than the previous one, and all of them glow in their greenish-blue hue.

He captured those waves after traveling to Western Australia and posted as many as 10 pictures on his Instagram. Even though the color of those waves was majorly green-blue, the tints varied from one wave to another. Some were cyan, and some had the whitish hue of the foam on them, whereas others that captured the belly of the wave were in vibrant green color. They were a treat to the eyes.

Baldassari finally wrote, “Thank you legend @chrisbryanfilms for making this a reality”. He thanked his cinematographer Chris Bryan who traveled with him to the site and accompanied him throughout all his previous attempts. Baldassari’s achievement in capturing these waves on camera speaks volumes of his love for his job. His Instagram bio reads “Photography is what I do. Creating art, not content”. Looking at his pictures, that is exactly what he created.
