Surfing can be spine-chilling and funny at the same time. While the sport comes up with its odds, followed by natural calamities, lethal wipe-outs, and shark attacks, it can also produce the intended entertainment. As for Mike Fanning, he has experienced both. In 2015, the three-time World Champion almost fell prey to a ravenous shark and ultimately managed to save his life.
Now, the surfer is enjoying life in every bit. Recently, Fanning shared a funny post on his social media, collaborating with an Australian footballer. In that video, the footballer, Christian Petracca kicked the ball and failed hilariously. That got a giggle out of Fanning.

His death-dealing confrontation
In 2018, The White Lightning gave an interview where he recounted the horrifying encounter. Notably, he was competing in an event when he was caught off guard by a voracious shark. Further detailing the occurrence Fanning added, “The main dorsal fin was right there, and I could see the side fin, and I could see where it goes from gray to white.”
Even though everything happened all of a sudden, the Australian surfer didn’t lose hope and fought off the animal by punching it. While, he could save his life, the memory haunted Fanning for years. And through that encounter, as he put it, he faced the biggest fear of his life.
