Often regarded as the greatest surfer of all time, Kelly Slater is a legend in every sense. He won the World Surf League title a record 11 times. Now 50, he recently attended the Oscars with two other sporting greats in Tony Hawk and Shaun White.
These three define extreme sports. A person who is known to have an infectious character, Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, gave tribute to Slater by dedicating a post to him on Twitter.

Nonetheless, he opened up about how Slater changed his life for the better. He posted a photo of Slater and him with a beautiful quote on his social media account.

Likewise, the duo spent time together as Hamilton talked about how Slater changed his life. Considering the achievements of both these athletes, they stand at the top of their respective sports. Hamilton is a seven-time Formula One champion. Significantly, both of them are GOATs of their respective sports. Thus, Hamilton talked about the way Slater’s influence helped him in his career. Hamilton mentioned on Twitter:

These two successful legends ruled their sporting world for a long time. While Hamilton is known all over the world, Slater needs no introduction to the surfing community. Some of his achievements deserve a standing ovation.

A stunning career

Born in Florida, his passion for surfing led him to numerous titles and accolades. He won 11 Championship Tour (CT) titles, 55 elite events, and many other second-tier trophies, including the US Open of Surfing. Even when he was 49, he competed at the highest level while dominating the sport from start to finish. A unique record he achieved was becoming the youngest and the oldest person to win a world title. He was 20 and 39, respectively.
It is just a great tribute from one legend to another. Both of them are great friends and continue to cherish their beautiful relationship. Just a treat to watch the two of them standing next to each other.
