He still made himself get back to the beach and the hotel but as soon he went to his bed he woke up in the hospital. He suffered from a major injury. According to doctors, his injury was awfully similar to that of a soldier in a war zone. It was said that he even needs to learn to talk and walk from scratch. There was a big question mark over whether he would be able to surf again. But showing his willpower and surfing skills, the massive change he brought in his life is just commendable.

Wright has been facing injuries since he has been surfing. He first started to surf when he was 5 years old. Getting stuck in waves and getting concussions is nothing new to him. He faced multiple accidents when he was just seven. His upbringing left him to be fearless and tough. When asked about concussions in his journey, he answered that he has been concussed around 20 or 30 times and the number of accidents he has faced is just never-ending.

After a major incident in Hawaii, his doctor said that it would take around 10 years to recover, but Wrights with his powerful passion for surfing got better in less than five years. Not just better, he competed for Australia in surfing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He broke all boundaries and limitations to win a third position. His triumph became the most inspirational yet heart-warming comeback story. He survived such a huge accident and kept his Olympic dream alive. He is now completely fine and has retired from professional surfing for a few months now.
