A 15-acre wave pool waits to enthrall surfers and enthusiasts in Avalon Road, west Orange County. The developers are scheduled to meet next Monday to decide on the way forward and set a tentative timeline for the massive 43-acre project. “Surfers have options to either train, compete, or surf recreationally“, revealed one developer of the surfing park. While the park is expected to cater to surfing connoisseurs, it will also look to make the sport officially recognized by the NCAA.
Along with the state-of-the-art wave pool, the mega project will also include volleyball courts, a surf shop, and tiki bars. The wave pool will make use of patented solar-powered technology to offer surfers a wide variety of options. Surfers can either spend leisurely time at the pool or opt for training dedicatedly to represent their specific institute or the country in different competitions around the world.
The pool will be able to create an “artificial reef” effect, that would allow professionals to make the best use of the upcoming park. Despite being the center of attention for surfers, it’s still not known with accuracy as to when the park will be opened to the public.
