Following this, the 19-year-old paddled toward his father and took him to the safety of the shore. The boy performed CPR and tried to resuscitate him, before he was transferred to the hospital. Things went further downhill when the diagnosis report asserted fractures in the neck and a severed artery along the spine. The surfer was declared brain dead, and two days later, he passed away. Ravaged with her husband’s unfortunate demise, Ferreira’s wife said, “Devastating.
