Kelly Slater is presently facing his biggest career challenge as he is at the cusp of being cut from the pro tour. Slater secured his best heat of the year with a 14.17 score in the opening round of the Margaret River Pro on 20th April. However, much is at stake with the Margaret River Pro where he will be on the lookout for at least a quarter final position. Amidst such challenging times, actor Chris Hemsworth welcomed his good friend for a fun surfing session that can very well put Slater’s mind at ease for a while.

Riding the waves confidently, both surfers showcased exceptional balance and concentration in the waters. After the session, the popular Australian actor shared his experiences of the surfing session on Instagram.

The Instagram post showed Slater and Hemsworth surfing in Perth, Australia before Slater gets knee-deep into the seriousness that encircles the Margaret River Pro. Holding a rope attached to a moving water transport vehicle, both surfers displayed their amazing prowess. Making short zigzag turns confidently, Slater traversed the waters with lightning speed. Hemsworth captioned this post, “Epic day of surf fun and sun.”

Slater and Hemsworth spent their day with Luke Munro, Mark Matthews and April Munro. Hemsworth’s wife Elsa Pataky had also joined the actor in their outing. The actor’s fondness toward the pro surfer is not news. He has been admirer of Slater since the days when Hemsworth’s father (Craig Hemsworth) used to go out on surfing trips. The duo has been close acquaintances since!

While it is all bells and whistles for the pro surfer, Slater must have a lot going on in his head. Evidently, he recently admitted feeling stressed before the Margaret River Pro. In a conversation with 10 News First, the 11-time World Champion held nothing back.
