“Catch the Wave of His Life”: Despite Being Deprived of Actual Surf Boards, 10-Year-Old Surfing Enthusiast Continues to Astound Sporting World With a Twist

Surfing is one of the most fun sports of all time and for any age. Surfing enthusiasts start teaching the sport to their children from a very young age. But even if you don’t have sport enthusiast parents or world-class training, it need not stop you from diving into the water.

Recently, a video went viral on the internet showcasing the unbelievable surfing skills of a 10-year-old from, Robertsport which is also known as one of the most famous destinations for surfing. The young surfer was riding the waves just like a natural and every bit of the video showed his love for the sport.

The 10-year-old from Liberia dazzles the world with mesmerizing surfing skills

A 10-year-old boy named Regan from Robertsport, Liberia, was seen surfing on the shores of the town. The young boy did not have a proper surfing suit or even a surfing board at all, he was using a wooden board. In most parts of Africa, people use wooden planks when they start surfing and it is not rare at all. 

This video was posted by ‘Surfline’ an Instagram handle famous for its collection of unique surfing videos across the world. Surfline also commended the boy’s incredible skills by saying, “Meet Regan, 10, from Robertsport, Liberia. He is one of around 60 surfers from a remote area and one of the best groms in his generation. How epic is his style?!” It also mentioned that ProvideTheSlide, a nonprofit Swiss/German organization donated over 500 surfboards and hosted a yearly surf contest since 2019. Netizens were stunned to see Regan’s epic surfing style, from creating speed and momentum to riding the waves like a champ.

Regan’s video made a splash on the internet. One user said, “Uuuffff He knows how to catch the wave of life.” Regan’s wooden surfing board prompted people to ask for board donations. One user said “Can we do a gofundme and get these inspiring youngsters some boards? Pls!” Many sports enthusiasts commended his skills by saying, “That’s RAW talent!!” Another user said, “Surfs better than me on a sheet of plywood.” A user beautifully expressed his inner delight after seeing Regan surfing, and wrote, “WHERE JOY OVERCOMES DIFFICULTIES.. MASS.”

Regan’s surfing skills did not only cease to amaze the world but his extraordinary skills were commended by the whole internet. A 5-year-old toddler was seen surfing on his own for the first time and his skills were commendable too.
