In an interview back in 2018, Slater revealed his favorite place in the world. Unsurprisingly, the surfing legend did choose a place near the ocean. He also discussed that when he was a child, he always wanted to go to that place.
The favorite place of Kelly Slater
Kelly Slater was pretty fond of the place during his childhood. Fate did allow him to go to his dream destination back when he was just a kid. It was Hawaii.
“As a kid I looked at so many surf magazines and always imagined what it would be like to go there,” Slater said and continued, “When I was 12 I won a surf contest and the prize was a trip to Hawaii.”
The surfer was lucky enough to win the surf contest back when he was just 12 years old.
“I went for the amateur championships and won,” Slater said and continued, “I made a bunch of lifelong friends who I’m still really close with today.” It looks like the pro surfer had socialized a lot when he was a kid, making a lot of lifelong friends in Hawaii.
