A dangerous attack and its painful aftermath
Surfing in the waters of New Smyrna Beach, Luciano noticed a shark coming towards him. Later, the shark bit his hand and Luciano punched it with his right hand. Due to this, the shark temporarily retreated. Alarmed by this attack, Luciano tried to paddle at the shore with his other hand which wasn’t injured. However, the shark wasn’t satisfied yet.
The shark came back for a second duel round. Circling around him, the shark bit his hands again. Despite being injured, Luciano managed to paddle to the shore and was later given treatment on the beach before being admitted to the Halifax Memorial Hospital. Revealing that it was a bull shark that had attacked him, he took to Facebook to share a health update with his followers.
In this Facebook post, he informed, “As some of you have heard, today I was bitten in both hands by sharks.” Continuing, “Im very grateful that I survived and will get to recover”, indicating that many others were not as fortunate. Luciano later did a reconstructive surgery to treat his injured hand.
