The 21-year-old prodigy has battled not one, but two kidney diseases that kept her away from the mats for a long. “I could not bend my legs the slightest…my face was swollen,” Lee once confessed. However, her passion for the sport tugged her back on track, announced with her striking comeback this season. Nonetheless, another gesture has come to Lee’s notice recently and she is absolutely enthralled.

Sharing the image of a unique road sign perhaps from a highway in Minnesota, USA Gymnastics wrote, “Even @MnDOT is ready for #USAGTrials24 & #GymnasticsCity24!” But what was so peculiar about a road sign?

Well, the sign read, “Leave the flipping to Suni and Simone, Drive Safe Speeds.” The pun in the safety reminder made the sign stand out. So much so that USA Gymnastics shared it to exhibit the Minnesota Transportation Department’s enthusiasm to see Suni and Simone perform.

Moreover, Suni Lee re-shared the post from her official X handle, with the caption, “OMGOSHHH” Naturally, Lee is fascinated to see such brimming enthusiasm. Particularly, in Minnesota, which happens to be her native state. She later attended Auburn University in AL and represented the Tigers in many collegiate gymnastics competitions.

Moreover, the aspect that makes these Olympic Trials even more significant for Lee is their location. Scheduled to take place in Minneapolis, Target Center, they have enabled Lee to find her way back to her home state. And ahead of this, many of her fans are posting their ecstatic reactions too!

Lee’s first participation on the grandest of sport stages was supposed to be a good working experience. But she shocked everyone, including herself, by bringing home the gold. The second time around, Lee is determined to do the same again!

After this warm welcome, another one of the fans attempted to boost Lee’s morale ahead of a crucial competition. They hyped her up saying, “you a legend in Minnesota girl!” On the other hand, some believed she deserved this grand welcome after her stellar journey. They wrote, “Enjoy every minute of this because you earned it. War Eagle!”

Although the fan evoked Auburn’s battle cry, the young gymnast is set to focus on “elite” gymnastics, announcing that this will be her last season competing at the collegiate level. “I have my sights set on Paris in 2024 and I know what I have to do to get there,” Lee said.
